When bats enter your home, removal is only part of the job - Xzaura has you covered, from the moment we arrive until long after we leave. Bats may enter through surprisingly small structural openings and establish roosting areas inside attics, rooflines, soffits, vents, and chimneys, and bat droppings (guano) should never simply be swept or vacuumed, as contaminated material can support the fungus Histoplasma, which can become airborne when disturbed.
Exclusion is humane: properly designed one-way devices allow bats to leave without returning, timed with consideration for seasonal restrictions and flightless young. Once the bats have exited, identified openings are sealed with appropriate screening, flashing, and sealants. Our goal is not simply to get today's bats out - it's to help keep tomorrow's bats from getting back in.
When guano removal is necessary, we treat it as more than a simple cleaning job - controlling dust and debris, properly containing contaminated materials, and evaluating affected insulation. Heavily contaminated attics: complete insulation removal and disinfectant treatment, then install CertainTeed blown-in fiberglass insulation to a minimum value of R-38, with the option to upgrade to R-49 for increased energy efficiency and thermal protection.
Isolated areas of wildlife activity: partial remediation - removing the affected insulation, disinfecting the area, and installing replacement insulation that matches the R-value of the surrounding existing insulation.
Minimal wildlife activity around HVAC units, attic flooring, or storage areas: attic cleanup - removing animal waste and debris and applying a hospital-grade disinfectant, creating a cleaner and safer area for storing personal belongings and for homeowners or HVAC technicians who may need to enter the attic.
